The Xingyang Port Floodgate Transferring to Downstream Xinyang Port river estuary flood channel improvement and wetland restoration project.

I. Project Overview

The project area covers the downstream of Xinyang Port and 5km range of the its beaches in Yancheng.

To improve the XingyangPort of discharge capacity and slow down erosion of reserve core caused by oscillating, to handle with the drought phenomenon, the invasion of Spartina alterniflora, decreasing of bare flat, habitat degradation and a series wetland degradation influence on bird habitat, the comprehensive project was carried out to ensure the safety of the upstream city and restore bird habitat diversity. The total investment of ecological restoration is 333.78 million Yuan; Investment in ecological water conservancy project is about 300 million.

II. Project measures

The ecological water conservancy projects include the channel reconstruction project, , floodgate transferring project, the construction of the seawall, and river dredging project.

Ecological restoration projects includes island ecological restoration project, freshwater wetland restoration project, separation engineering, bare flat restoration project, ecological slope protecting engineering, water diversion for wet, Spartina alterniflora controlling project, and the Suaeda glauca restoration project.
