Donglan Pohao Lake National Wetland Park is located in midstream of Hongshui River. The location is of limestone zone in west of Guangxi and south of Guizhou, one of 35 biodiversity priority protection zones in China. The total area of park is 549.4ha, including wetland area 289.4ha wetland, the wetland rate is 52.7%.
Based on deeply refining and analyzing status and characteristics of the park, the plan creatively applies the concept “Habitat in Palette”. Along with development direction of “Ecological Resilience, Social Elasticity, Cultural Resilience”, Pohao Lake National Wetland Park started a habitat full of all kinds of possibilities, inheritance a habitat full of all kinds of wisdom and innovate a habitat full of all kinds of poetry and creativity.
Donglan Pohao Lake National Wetland Park based on national wetland park general planning, regional development and other related planning, relies on landscape of peaks and depressions, aims at protecting ecological security of Pohao Lake and drinking water in the downstream of Hongshui River, sets the starting point on restoring lake wetland, river wetland, rebuilds landscape of hydro-fluctuation belt and habitat of fish and birds, focuses on popular science exhibition of birds and amphibians, features on drum culture, Maguai culture, herbal health culture and colorful agriculture, in order to construct a national wetland park with wetland protection and restoration, science education and ecological experience as a whole.
